1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the AeraNews website, mobile application, or any other services we provide (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the Service. Your access to and use of the Service is also conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with our Privacy Policy.

2. Description of Service

AeraNews is a content discovery platform. Our Service automatically gathers publicly available content, such as news articles and video clips, from third-party sources. We use artificial intelligence to generate concise summaries and keywords, allowing users to quickly stay informed about trending global and local topics.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You must provide accurate and complete information and keep your account information updated. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

4. User-Generated Content

You are solely responsible for any content you post, such as comments (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant AeraNews a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, distribute, reproduce, and display your User Content in connection with the Service. We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to monitor and remove User Content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.

5. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

• Copying, distributing, or disclosing any part of the Service in any medium.
• Using any automated system, including “bots” or “scrapers,” to access the Service in a manner that sends more request messages than a human can reasonably produce in the same period.
• Transmitting spam, chain letters, or other unsolicited email.
• Posting unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or hateful content.
• Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your affiliation.
• Interfering with the proper working of the Service.
• Using the Service to advertise or offer to sell goods and services.
• Selling or otherwise transferring your profile.

6. Copyright Policy

It is our policy to respond to any claim that content posted on the Service infringes on the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any person. The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the content.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall AeraNews, its directors, employees, or partners, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability to you for any and all claims arising out of your use of the Service is limited to the lesser of the amount you have paid to us, if any, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Nigeria. The parties shall first attempt to resolve any dispute through informal negotiations for at least thirty (30) days. If negotiations fail, the dispute shall be finally settled by binding arbitration conducted in Lagos, Nigeria, in English, by a single arbitrator.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any changes by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
